If you were asked what are habits of
succcessful people what would be your answer? What they do everyday so they can
reach the top of twenty percent who earn eighty percent of the money in our society?
Aristotle said that 95% of everything you do is the result of your habit. So
the rule is form your habit, and then allow the habit to form you. The fact is
bad habit is easy to learn and difficult to leave, and good habit is hard to
learn and easy to leave. What we learn from psychology is that you cannot
remove your habit immediately, but you can replace your old habit with your new
habit that has more powerful impact. And how you develop a good habit? You
develop a habit by repetition. In a chapter in Brian Tracy’s book he wrote
about 23 habits of rich people, but let me give you some of the best, here it
is..
- Daily goal setting
They have list of goals each day, so
they can focus their mind to accomplish those goals. So you have to keep a
journal to write all of your goals. And when you do your activities, think
again about your goals, and keep focus on accomplishing those goals. You see
that you become what you think about most of the time. You do achieve what you
think about most of the time. So, all successful people and all wealthy people
think about their goals most of the time.
- Be result oriented
Result oriented people think about what
they can do right now to achieve their most important result. Successful people
make a list of what they have to do, and before they start working, they make a
priority list, this is a great way to become result oriented, ask your self,
when you have your list of that day, what activity that if i go out of the city
for a month, i want that job to be completed, circle on that activity, and
start doing it, immediately first time. And accustom your self to do that
activity nonstop untill it is accomplished. This singel activity has
transformed people from rage to riches. Take your most important task,
and stay with it untill it is completed.
- Be people oriented
We have to realize that everything we do
should be people oriented, ask your self, what you can do for other people. You
have to know that everything we do in life, we need help, support, and
participation from others. So keep thinking what that other people want and
need from me, how i can help other people, so they want to help me back. If you
are in sales, top sales people think about their customers all the time, they
think about who their customers are, what they customers want, how they can
help them the most, and how they can help them even more than today. In
relationship, most successful people are very focus on their most important
people in the world, both personal and in business.
- Health oriented
Another habit is health oriented, think
about your health most of the time, think about eating less food and better
food, think about daily exercise, think about getting lot of suppressed.
Remember to be successful, in this competitive world, you need a lot of energy.
You got to eat good food, you need a lot of rest, and exercise all the time.
- Always tell the truth
The next habit is character, to always
tell the truth, no matter what the price.
- Self discipline
And the final habit, is self discipline,
Brian Tracy has spoken about this for years and years, but self discipline
seems to be the foundation habit that makes everything else possible. And the
best definition of self discipline, is the ability to make your self do what
you should do when your should do it, wether you feel like it or not. You see,
anybody can do it, if they like it, but if you don’t like it but you do it
anyway, you develop the self discipline, that makes everything else possible,
